ONE SLOW SINK? OR THE WHOLE BATHROOM?

Because you only ran the faucet for a few seconds and put a few cups of water down the drain when it started to back up, it is very likely the clog is not that far away. In this case, it is probably in the popup assembly, p-trap, or trap arm of that particular fixture. This can be dealt with by taking apart the drain pipes and cleaning them out manually or using a small sewer auger (snake) to clear the blockage.
CLEARING THE CLOG
Fixture Clogs
If the clog is located in the fixture itself or in that fixture’s p-trap, then we will usually clear the clog by running a small drain snake down through that fixture’s drain or clear the stoppage by taking apart the slip-joint drain pipes underneath the sink. As we are working inside the house, we lay out a drop cloth to keep everything clean, and we have plenty of clean rags and Lysol to make sure your kitchen or bathroom is spotless after our work.
